Enhancing Fire Safety and Security as Part of a Full Site Refurbishment

We delivered fire and intruder alarm installations at a Vets as part of a wider refurbishment programme across the site.

The fire alarm system was designed and installed to meet BS 5839-1:2025 L2 classification, providing enhanced detection and improved protection throughout the premises. Alongside this, a new intruder alarm system was installed to strengthen site security, reduce the risk of unauthorised access, and provide a more comprehensive protection solution for the building and its occupants.

Coordinating Works Within a Live Refurbishment Programme

The project was delivered in a live refurbishment environment, with multiple contractors working across the site at the same time. Careful planning and close coordination were essential to ensure our works progressed efficiently alongside other trades.

We worked closely with the wider project team to maintain safe working areas, manage interfaces between trades, and minimise disruption to ongoing activities. The programme also required delivery within a compressed timeframe, placing additional emphasis on efficient sequencing and clear communication throughout.

The Outcome

Despite the challenges of a fast-paced, multi-contractor environment, the project was completed on schedule and to the required standard.

The new fire alarm system provides full compliance with BS 5839-1:2025 L2 requirements, delivering improved fire detection coverage and enhanced safety throughout the premises.
