We delivered a full automated security gate installation in the UK at the Prince Philip Maritime Collection Centre, providing a high-security, fully integrated access solution for a live operational site.

Project Overview

The project involved the supply and installation of automated SR2 security gates, designed to improve site security, control access, and ensure smooth day-to-day operation.

Fully automated SR2-rated bi-fold vehicle gates
Two automated SR2-rated pedestrian swing gates
Integration with existing access control systems
Groundworks, cabling, and infrastructure installation

Working on a Live Site

Delivering a security gate installation on a live site required careful planning and coordination to maintain safety and security at all times.

We ensured uninterrupted protection by:

Installing temporary fencing and gates during removal of existing systems
Maintaining secure access routes for staff and visitors
Working closely with on-site security and operations teams

This approach allowed the facility to remain fully operational throughout the project.

Groundworks and Gate Infrastructure

As part of the commercial gate installation, we completed all necessary groundwork to support long-term performance:

Installation of underground ducting for power and data cables
Construction of reinforced concrete foundations for gate systems
Preparation for automated gate control and safety systems

Automated Gate Installation

The installation of the bi-fold security gates and pedestrian gates required specialist lifting equipment using a HIAB crane.

To ensure safety and precision:

Access points were temporarily closed during lifting operations
Controlled exclusion zones were implemented
Gates were installed to meet strict security and performance standards

Access Control Integration

A key part of this security gate project was integrating the new gates with the site’s existing access control system.

This enabled:
