Intercom and Gate Automation Upgrade

We recently completed an intercom and gate automation upgrade for a site with both office and residential access, helping improve security and make entry quicker and easier for users.

The job included installing a BPT hardwired video intercom system with an integrated keypad and video phone, giving clear video identification and simple controlled access. We also fitted a Came 24 volt underground gate automation system, plus a pair of safety beams between the gate posts so everything meets current safety standards at both the office entrance and the house gate.

Challenges on site

Because the system is installed outdoors, the weather added some extra pressure while carrying out the groundworks. The gates are also positioned at the entrance to a busy office building, so we worked closely with the site team to schedule the safest times to carry out the work and reduce disruption from vehicle movements.

As part of the upgrade, we also removed the gate shoes from the old motors and welded them onto the new system to make sure the gates operated smoothly.

The finished setup now gives the client reliable, compliant and easy to use access for both entrances.

Outcome

The site now benefits from smoother vehicle access, clear visitor verification and safer automated gate operation at both entrances. The new system has simplified daily use for staff and residents while bringing the installation fully up to current safety standards.
